Not sure if you've been to the Keg again lately, but it seems they've gotten even better with gluten-free food. I'm not sure if it's chain wide, but in Toronto last month, they had a GF menu. :)

We took Grandma to Langdon Hall on Sat May 08, 2010 for Afternoon Tea. My two daughters required a gluten free option which they accomodated very elegantly. My daughter, Margaret, said that the food was great!

So, if you are GF do not be intimidated by Afternoon Tea. There are places out there that will rise to the occasion and make it special. I would highly recommend Langdon Hall to do this for you.

I can't tell you how happy I am to hear about this site. I was just told, yesterday, that I can't have wheat. I'm okay with gluten apparently but not wheat - in any form. Weird.

Once I finished shopping *sigh*. I sat down with my new cookbook and wondered how I was going to find the time to make everything that I need to. I have done some other research now and have discovered some premade things that get a fairly good review. It's going to take some time to get used to the texture difference though.

The advantage, however, is that my husband and I own a quick service smoothie restaurant & bisto in downtown Galt and since I do the majority of the baking we are now in the process of adding a number of gluten/egg/lactose free items to our menu. Suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. I know that we have to be careful with cross-contamination. Any restaurant should be aware of that! But some ideas about what to serve would be helpful. I have yet to find a rice wrap that will stand up to our sandwich fillers, so I started baking bread. Ideas?

Thank you for posting all of these reviews. I am happy to find that I might actually be able to enjoy an evening out with my husband.

I too have tried a gluten free pizza from Gadino's. I was plesantly surprised! The nice part about ordering from Gadino's is that they allow you to create the pizza the way you wish. I am not Celiac, I only have a wheat intolerance. I tried to order a g/f pizza from Pizza Pizza and they refused to put goat cheese on it. Not because there is gluten, but because their ingredients come vacuum packed (yummy) and are cross contaminated. Hats off to Gadino's. Oh, my significant other had a regular pizza and LOVED it!!
A note to all, just because it is gluten/wheat free does not guarantee it is healthy. Watch for additives, preservatives and trans fat.

Finally Waterloo Region gets a Cora's. Good to hear you enjoyed your meal, becaus I've heard some Cora's restaurants in Toronto weren't as good as the original ones in Montreal.

Although I'm not on a gluten-free diet, I'm really enjoying your reviews.
